V.League 1, 2023-2024 round 1: Khanh Hoa FC to play away against Ho Chi Minh City

Khanh Hoa FC is going to play away against Ho Chi Minh City in their first match in V.League 1 season 2023-2024 at Thong Nhat Stadium at 7:15pm on October 22. They are expected to have a good start in the new season.
Before the start of the new season, many key players of Khanh Hoa FC had left the team, namely Minh Huy, Trum Tinh, Jairo, Yago. In order to fill the gaps lefts by these players and prepare well for the new season, head coach Vo Dinh Tan brought in some news outstanding faces, including overseas Vietnamese player Truong Quoc Minh (used to play for a futsal team in Denmark); Haitian U20 striker Leazard Watz Landy; Sesay Alie (former player of Leicester City youth team); striker Mamadou (used to play for Guinea's U23); midfielders Nguyen Dinh Manh, and Tran Manh Hung. Ho Chi Minh City struggled to survive in the relegation battle in the 2023 season. After the season, they said farewell to nine players and brought in many quality players such as striker Cheick Timite (Ivory Coast’s U23), former player of France’s teams Paul-Georges Ntep, defender Sam Ngoc Duc, overseas Vietnamese goalkeeper Patrick Le Giang, and midfielder Nguyen Minh Tung. This season, Ho Chi Minh City set the target of reaching the top 5 on the rankings.

Given their investment on the transfer market for the 2023-2024 season and home advantage, Ho Chi Minh City are highly rated compared to Khanh Hoa FC. However, Khanh Hoa FC are regarded as a tough opponent for Ho Chi Minh City. Last season, Khanh Hoa FC overcame Ho Chi Minh City in both times they met with the scores of 2-0 and 3-0.
