The female athletes of Sanvinest Khanh Hoa asserted their position as powerful athletes in Vietnam’s beach volleyball with the championship in women’s event of the national 4x4 beach volleyball championships 2023. This is the fourth time in a row that Sanvinest Khanh Hoa female team has won the championship since 4x4 beach volleyball was incorporated into the national sports system.
Taking place in Can Tho City from November 20 to 26, the national 4x4 beach volleyball championships 2023 was the last official tournament of Vietnam’s volleyball in 2023. Sanvinest Khanh Hoa were the champions in women’s event; Ba Ria-Vung Tau claimed victory in men’s event. This year’s tournament was played by 138 athletes of 8 units and localities with strong volleyball movement over the country, namely Sanvinest Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Thanh Hoa, Army Corps 4, Kien Giang, Ben Tre, and Can Tho. The players competed for 4 sets of medals in men’s and women’s events in the categories of junior (under 21 years old) and champion.

In beach volleyball, Khanh Hoa Province is among the localities with highest achievements and quality training. In the first edition of the national 4x4 beach volleyball championships held in Sam Son City in 2020, Khanh Hoa’s female athletes defeated Ho Chi Minh City 2-0 in the final game to claim the championship. Since then, the female athletes of Khanh Hoa have been superior in beach volleyball in domestic playgrounds. This year, besides the championship, Tuong Vy of Sanvinest Khanh Hoa was voted as the best female athlete of the tournament.
In men’s event, Khanh Hoa athletes won junior category and were the runners-up in championship category. Since 2020, Khanh Hoa male athletes have won the tournament 2 times and finished second twice. In 2023, some male athletes of Khanh Hoa have been called up for the national beach volleyball team to prepare for international tournaments. This reflects the strong position of Khanh Hoa’s beach volleyball in particular and high-achievement sports in general in domestic playground.
As said by Nguyen Trong Quoc, head coach of Sanvinest Khanh Hoa, it’s thanks to the support from the province’s authorities and Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Soft Drink Joint Stock Company (Sanvinest Khanh Hoa) that Sanvinest Khanh Hoa beach volleyball team have gained good achievements. This support has provided motivation for the athletes to practice and play with high enthusiasm and determination.
After the national 4x4 beach volleyball championships 2023, Sanvinest Khanh Hoa take some days off and then continue practicing for the tournaments in 2024. The athletes also set a target to be eligible for the national team towards SEA Games 33 scheduled to take place in Thailand in 2025.
