Sanest Khanh Hoa volleyball team aims for Hung Vuong Cup’s trophy

Sanest Khanh Hoa finished the first stage of the national volleyball tournament – Duc Giang Chemical Cup 2024 with all 4 wins and are full of enthusiasm to secure Hung Vuong Cup’s trophy, their first title of this year. 

Sanest Khanh Hoa are highly rated in the 2024 season

Traditionally, on the occasion of Hung Kings' Death Anniversary, the top 8 male and female teams in round 1 of the national volleyball championship gather in Phu Tho Province to participate in Hung Vuong Cup volleyball tournament. This year, the national volleyball championship only has ranking round, which includes 2 stages (stage 1 from March 31 to April 6; stage 2 from November 23 to December 1). This means that in stage 1, 1 team can play 4 or 5 matches and it will be difficult to decide the rankings of the teams. Therefore, the organization board of Hung Vuong Cup 2024 had decided to select the top 8 teams of the 2023 national volleyball championship to play the 2024 Hung Vuong Cup. The top 8 teams include 4 male teams (Sanest Khanh Hoa; Border; Ha Tinh; The Cong Tan Cang) and 4 female teams (LPBank Ninh Binh; Information and Communications division – Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc; Duc Giang Lao Cai Chemical; VTV Binh Dien Long An).

In men's event, Sanest Khanh Hoa and Bien Phong are considered the favorites for the championship of this year's Hung Vuong Cup as they displayed excellent performances in stage 1 of the national volleyball championship in     Ha Tinh Province. Sanest Khanh Hoa had 4 unbeaten matches, getting 12 points and topping the rankings. Bien Phong had equally impressive results with 4 wins and ranked second on the table.  Bien Phong are 1 point less than Sanest Khanh Hoa because they had 1 win with a score of 3-2, which only earned them 2 points. Ha Tinh and The Cong Tan Cang are the unknown.

Sanest Khanh Hoa were the reigning national champions and runners-up of the 2023 Hung Vuong Cup. With a line-up of quality domestic and foreign players, Sanest Khanh Hoa are also highly rated in this year’s season. Tu Thanh Thuan, Quoc Du and Evando Dias were the three outstanding players, who helped Sanest Khanh Hoa have easy wins in the first stage. Currently, only Bien Phong are considered strong enough to challenge Sanest Khanh Hoa.
It is predicted that the 2024 Hung Vuong Cup final will be a competition between Sanest Khanh Hoa and Bien Phong. Last year, Bien Phong defeated Sanest Khanh Hoa 3-1 in the final and claimed the championship. If the 2 sides meet each other again in the 2024 final, it will be an exciting clash.

The 2024 Hung Vuong Cup takes place from April 11 to 14 in Phu Tho Province, featuring the top 8 male and female teams of the 2023 season in a knock-out format. The top 2 teams qualify for the final match; the third-placed and fourth-placed teams compete for the final third place. In men’s event, Sanest Khanh Hoa meet Ha Tinh on April 11; Bien Phong play The Cong Tan Cang on April 12. On April 13, the third-place and final matches take place on April 13 and April 14 respectively.
