Khanh Hoa Province’s table tennis tournament for age groups 2024 taking place recently was highly appreciated by experts and athletes for its quality. This year’s edition increased the number of events and was opened to more participants. This was an attractive and exciting playground, helping to promote the development of table tennis that is considered Khanh Hoa’s forte.

The provincial table tennis tournament for age groups 2024 attracted 170 male and female athletes from 13 teams from the localities and clubs with strong table tennis movement in the province. According to Nguyen Tuan Thanh, deputy director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, head of the tournament's organization committee, this year's tournament attracted more athletes compared to the previous years because the organization committee made some changes in order to promote the tournament and improve its quality. For example, the age category for players from 11 to 15 years old had 3 events instead of 1 event like the previous years. This offered an opportunity for young players to have more chances to play and gain experience. The total number of events in this year’s tournament increased to 20 from 15-17 in the previous years’ tournaments. The 2024 edition also opened to clubs besides localities like the previous years, which made the tournament more competitive.

Most of the matches of all events were competitive and exciting. Player Le Thi Trang of Viet My Chemistry Club claimed a gold medal in her first time participating in the tournament. She was satisfied with her achievement and highly appreciated the quality of the participating players as well as the chance to gain experience for future tournaments.

The impressive victory of Doan Thi Doan Trang and Ha Thi Mai (MT Club), both in their 60s, in women's doubles over 40 earned the admiration of many young athletes. The two players have played table tennis for a long time and still maintain their passion for this sport. This is the second time Trang and Mai have won the gold medal in this event. “This year’s tournament saw many young players with good skills. We had to try our best to defend our gold medal. Hopefully, the tournament will continue to be organized with better quality and become more and more exciting and attractive," said player Ha Thi Mai.

At the end of the tournament, the organization committee gave 20 sets of medals to the outstanding players, doubles and teams.
