According to Mac Xuan Tung, general secretary of Vietnam Shuttlecock Kicking Federation, the tournament was intended for young athletes, aiming to create conditions for local teams to compete and improve their skills. It also served as an opportunity for the organization committee and the federation to select excellent young athletes for the national team to prepare for the Asian Shuttlecock Championship and the 2nd Asian Youth Shuttlecock Championship 2024, scheduled to take place in Thua Thien Hue Province at the end of August. This will be a good opportunity for Vietnam’s shuttlecock to prove its position in the region. At the 2023 Asian tournament held in China, Vietnam’s shuttlecock kicking team performed excellently, winning first place with 11 gold medals, 3 silver medals, far surpassing the second-placed team.

At the end of the tournament, Ho Chi Minh City ranked first with 10 gold medals, 9 silver medals, and 8 bronze medals; Dong Thap ranked second with 8 gold medals, 4 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals; Hanoi, Bac Giang, and Yen Bai ranked third, fourth, and fifth, respectively, with a fairly close number of gold medals (5-6 gold medals).

This time, although Khanh Hoa’s junior shuttlecock team didn’t achieve any medals, what they performed showed a positive sign for future development. The athletes of Khanh Hoa were the junior high school pupils, born between 2008 and 2010, in Nha Trang City anh Ninh Hoa Town. These pupils were the members of the provincial team taking part in regional and national Phu Dong sports festival. Debuting at the 2024 national junior shuttlecock kicking championship, despite of only aiming to exchange and learn from the other players from over the country, the young players of Khanh Hoa displayed high determination and effort in each game.
