Nha Trang City sees quite many tennis tournaments, from club level to province level, being organized every year. However, not many exciting and high quality charity tournaments like Viettennis Nha Trang tennis open tournament have been maintained. This year’s Viettennis Nha Trang tennis open tournament took place from August 2 to 4, attracting over 350 athletes from provinces and cities with strong tennis movement, such as: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Dak Lak, Binh Thuan, Lam Dong, Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hue. At the tournament, the athletes competed in men's doubles of levels of 1235, 1290 and 1350; mixed and women's doubles of levels of 1215, 1250 (level is the total score of the athlete pair accumulated throughout Viettennis Nha Trang tennis open tournament).

According to Nguyen Thi Khanh Trang, head of the tournament’s organization committee, besides creating a playground for the athletes and promoting the development of Khanh Hoa’s tennis movement, the tournament was also a bridge between the organization committee and sponsors to raise funds for charity rice for families with difficult circumstances in the province. At the gala program of the tournament, the organization committee auctioned 1 exquisitely handcrafted watch with the tournament logo printed on it, 1 trophy, 1 tennis racket engraved with the tournament logo in gold, paintings, wooden trophies, etc. All the proceeds from the auction have been donated to the charity rice funds to give to disadvantaged families in some localities such as Vinh Luong Commune (Nha Trang City); Ninh Quang Commune and Ninh Son Commune (Ninh Hoa Town); and hospitals’ charity kitchens over the province.

Nguyen Van Long, the athlete from Hai Phong, highly appreciates the scale and quality of the tournament as well as its organization. Long also appreciates having the opportunity to play and connect with other tennis players. Nguyen Van Chinh, CEO of Viet An Steel Company Limited, hopes that the tournament will be maintained and organized at a larger scale as well as attract more athletes and sponsors.

At the end of the tournament, the organization committee presented trophies, prizes and 5 sets of medals to the pairs of athletes with excellent results with a total prize of VND142 million.
