Cam Ranh to host MMA Lion Championship 25

The 2025 season of MMA Lion Championship (mixed martial arts) including 9 events is taking place in provinces and cities nationwide such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc (Kien Giang). Cam Ranh City (Khanh Hoa Province) will be the host of MMA Lion Championship 25 scheduled for August.

MMA Lion Championship 21, the opening tournament of the series of 9 events of the 2025 Vietnam MMA season, officially kicked off in Hanoi last weekend. Reportedly, the 2025 season uses 4 new competition formats compared to previous seasons, including striking, ground fight, duo and gauntlet. Through the events of MMA Lion Championship 2025 and the 2025 National MMA Club Cup (scheduled to take place in June), experts will select outstanding fighters and clubs to form a national team to prepare for the 20th ASIAD. This sport was officially included in the 2026 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games (in Saudi Arabia).

In the opening event of Vietnam’s professional MMA season 2025, the leading Vietnamese MMA fighters and clubs performed exciting and dramatic matches with victories for strongest fighters. In MMA striking, for weight classes of 56kg and 65kg, fighters Le Van Vu, Nguyen Van Lam, and Tran Quang Khai excellently defeated their opponents. In MMA ground fight, fighter Ninh Hai Anh won against fighter Nguyen Van Linh after 3 tense and dramatic rounds. In MMA duo and MMA gauntlet, fighters Nguyen Tien Long, Nguyen Trung Hai and Tank Club had excellent performances and won against their opponents.

Reportedly, after MMA Lion Championship 21 in Hanoi ends, MMA Lion Championship series of events will continue to take place in the provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Phu Quoc (Kien Giang). In August, Cam Ranh City will be the host of the MMA Lion Championship 25. As said by Pham Minh Sang, chairman of Khanh Hoa Mixed Martial Arts Federation and chairman of the Provincial Boxing Association, Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts Federation has planned for MMA Lion Championship 25 in Cam Ranh City. Khanh Hoa Mixed Martial Arts Federation and the organizing committee are also actively preparing for this event in Cam Ranh. The arena is expected to be held outdoors in the central area of Cam Ranh City. Khanh Hoa Mixed Martial Arts Federation will send at least 1 fighter to MMA Lion Championship 25.

In Khanh Hoa, although mixed martial arts has not yet developed strongly, it has begun to take shape through martial arts dojos and clubs of Muay Thai, boxing, combat traditional martial arts, etc. The upcoming MMA Lion Championship 25 in Cam Ranh will provide a good opportunity for MMA to become more popular in the province.
