Pickleball tournament for age groups shows Khanh Hoa’s strong pickleball movement

With the expansion of the scale, high number and quality of players, standard courts, and well-prepared organization, Khanh Hoa Province’s pickleball tournament for age groups 2025 was a quality sporting playground, showing Khanh Hoa’s strong development of pickleball movement.

Taking place from December 11 to 14, the second edition of the tournament attracted 330 players (244 men, 86 women) from units, clubs, and sports centers in communes and wards across the province. The players competed in men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles, divided into four age groups (under 15, 16-35, 36-45, and over 46). The increase in number of participants from 200 last year to 330 this year proved the appeal of the tournament as well as the strong development of pickleball movement in the province.

Every year, the province organizes no fewer than 20 movement sports tournaments such as football, table tennis, basketball and tennis. However, the pickleball tournament for age groups 2025 saw a relatively exciting and vibrant atmosphere of matches and spectators compared to the aforementioned tournaments. On the final day of competition (December 14), all four finals in singles and doubles events for 36-45 age group featured top-tier players, including former famous table tennis coach and athlete Doan Kien Quoc. The highlight was the mixed doubles final (ages 36-45), in which the pair Doan Van Le Vinh and Nguyen Thi Doan Dieu pulled off a stunning 15-13 win against Doan Kien Quoc and Duong Thi Kim Chi, despite entering the match with injuries and having been lower rated in terms of skill and experience compared to Doan Kien Quoc and Duong Thi Kim Chi. 

According to player Nguyen Thi Doan Dieu, compared to the first edition last year, this year’s tournament was organized more professionally, featuring exciting matches and good spirit of sports. These factors are expected to help pickleball movement develop strongly.

After 4 days of exciting competition, the organizing committee gave 14 sets of medals to individuals and pairs with outstanding performances.
