According to Director Truong Dang Tuyen, the Department of Culture, Sport & Tourism, link tours are necessary in the tourism cooperation program, period 2010-2015, between Lam Dong and Khanh Hoa.
Would you please tell me the achievements in the cooperation in mutual tourist product and destination promotion?
The two provinces have cooperated in tourist product and destination management and marketing. The number of visitors has much increased. The provincial route 723 linking Nha Trang and Da Lat has been upgraded facilitating travel between the two communities, creating favorable conditions for tourism development.
Located on this route, Bidoup- Ba Mount National Park and Yang Bay Tourist Park have been chosen to be one of the highlights. Businesses in the two communities have operated many kinds of tours such as marine ecological tours, adventure tours and historical and cultural tours, which are about getting a real sense of a place through its history and traditions. The Nha Trang – Lam Dong link tour is one of the popular domestic tours.
What are the activities in promotion of tourism information and the images of the sea festival city and the flower city?
The tourism sectors in the two provinces have cooperated in promoting their tourism products and images through cultural and tourism events, including Nha Trang Sea Festival, Da Lat Flower Festival, tourism fairs, etc held in Da Lat.
The two departments of culture, sport & tourism in association with many travel businesses have held fam trips designed for travel agents or consultants to showcase destinations of the two provinces. Travel businesses have launched many discount programs for Lam Dong – Khanh Hoa link tours.
What are the shortcomings of the tourism cooperation program?
Tourist products have not been effectively exploited without mutual support in handicraft product marketing. Mutual tourism images have not been created to promote their local tourism potentials through bi-lingual guidebooks, holiday brochures and leaflets.
In the time to come, the cooperation program is focusing on the promotion of tourist products based on the typical characteristics of the two regions, making good advantages of their potentials.
Further cooperation is required in creating special event tours with more support in celebrating annual events in the two provinces, organizing fam trips periodically with tourist guidebooks, holiday brochures and leaflets in many languages, including Vietnamese, French, Chinese and Russian, etc.
