Khanh Hoa has seen a sharp increase in Russian travelers since the operation of direct flights from Russian Far East to Cam Ranh Airport in late 2011.
In the first 10 months of 2012, out of 420,000 passengers from over 40 nations, 60,000 were from Russia.
Anh Duong Vietnam Company and Russian tour operator Pegas Touristik are leading in organizing flights bringing Russian travelers to Khanh Hoa.

Since late October, the number of direct flights from Russia to Cam Ranh Airport have increased to 3 a day, carrying 500-600 Russian travelers/ day.
Hoang Thi Phong Thu, CEO of Anh Duong Co., says from November 2012 to April 2013, Cam Ranh Airport is expected to receive 100,000 Russian arrivals on direct flights. High-spending Russian tourists often spend 10 days in Nha Trang.
On November 4, Focus Travel Company (Nha Trang) in association with 4 companies in Kazakhstan opened the first flight from Almaty City (Kazakhstan) to Cam Ranh Airport. There will be 3 flights a month from Kazakhstan to Cam Ranh Airport between November 2012 and February 2013.
The trial operation of 2 direct flights a week in July and August from Incheon Airport (Seoul) to Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa) helped to increase Korean visitor number to Khanh Hoa.
Korean visitors reached some 19,000 in the first 10 months of 2012. Three leading Asian traveler markets included Korea, Japan and China.
Khanh Hoa Tourism industry is targeting new markets. Truong Dang Tuyen, Director of the Department of Culture, Sport & Tourism says in 2012, the Department of Culture, Sport & Tourism and Vietnam Administration of Tourism have made effort to exploit Asian tourism markets, including Malaysia and Singapore.
The department has cooperated with Malacca (Malaysia) in bringing tourists to Cam Ranh. A Fam trip delegation from Malaysia and Singapore will survey tourism infrastructures and products in Khanh Hoa for the operation of direct flights from Malaysia and Singapore to Cam Ranh.
