With two days remaining before New Year 2013, all the coach stations in Nha Trang City have had plans to meet the high travel demand. However, Nha Trang has not seen a significant rise in the sales of new year coach tickets and the fares mostly have remained the same.

Transport businesses are ready to meet the high travel demand.

Nguyen Cong Hai, Chief of Nha Trang City Southern Coach Station says some transport businesses have published their new year fares.

Season tickets and peak fares are often regulated, especially for the route Nha Trang- Ho Chi Minh City.

Specifically, Quang Hanh coach fares will increase by 20%, from VND200,000 to VND240,000/ ticket on December 31-January 2, 2013.

Phuong Trang and Mai Linh coach fares will be VND220,000/ ticket. Other coach businesses have not published their 2013 fares.

Coach operators have been required to announce their season ticket prices. According to Hai, when transport companies do not announce their new fares, it means their fares remain unchanged.

An off-peak Quang Hanh coach return from Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City will be down 16.7% on January 3, 2013; from Ho Chi Minh City to Van Gia down 18.5% on December 30. Other fares will be kept the same as on normal days.

The demand for new year tickets has not increased significantly as expected although transport businesses began to sell their season tickets early. Phuong Trang new year tickets have been available for sale since December 20, Mai Linh since December 25, etc.

New year coach tickets can be bought at ticket offices at Nha Trang City southern and northern coaches and representative offices. At the northern coach station, only Phuong Trang Company serves Nha Trang – Ho Chi Minh City route passengers.

Coaches for the route Nha Trang – Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang – Da Lat will be increased to meet the increased tourism demand.

According to local transport companies, there will be enough coaches to meet the growing passenger numbers on the new year holiday.
