Industry and tourism boost in central Coastal region

Within the framework of the 2013 Conference on investment promotion for the Central Coastal Region of Vietnam in Da Nang City on March 22, a discussion on the regional investment promotion has been held.

The representatives focused on two issues related to industry and tourism development strategies in the Central Coastal region.

The industrial growth rate of the central provinces has reached 20%, higher than the average figure of the nation and hosted 734 projects with a capital of nearly USD 30 billion worth of direct foreign investment.

Bui Tat Thang, Director of the Institute of Development Strategy of the Ministry of Industry & Trade, suggests solutions to promote industry and industrial collaboration in the central region. He says for better cooperation among regional industrial sectors, adding that it is necessary to follow the regional master plan with breakthroughs in land rent tax and environmental solutions to help ensure sustainable development.

Regarding tourism development, delegates says tourism is the mainstay of the economy of their community and the whole region. Boosting the cooperation in creating typical high quality tourism products is required.

Cao Tri Dung, Director of Vitour Da Nang says central provinces should cooperate closely in the planning of services, investment in rest stops; shopping and recreational places; and tourism promotion.

The event was designed for central coastal cities and provinces to promote their potential and seek investment opportunities. It brought tourism administrators together to exchange views and develop areas of cooperation on tourism trade and policies
