Cam Ranh Bay is considered as one of potential tourist areas. Khanh Hoa Province is attaching importance to developing this southern area.
Tourism potentials
Cam Ranh Bay has been well-known with the natural beauty and advantage of facilities. It features Bai Dai beach with white sand, Thuy Trieu Swamp, Binh Ba Island and Cam Ranh International Airport. Additionally, there are large seafood farms and fruit gardens, especially mango orchards.
Tourism potentials of Cam Ranh have been found recently. Some businesses have started making tours to this land. Homestay tours to Binh Ba Island and Binh Hung Island, luxurious resorts and the rising number of hotels in Cam Lam and Cam Ranh.
“We plan to make a survey on Cam Ranh Bay in September to open tours here. We recognized that Cam Ranh is very potential in tourism. Beside the beautiful beach, we may take tourists to fishery raising cages and then gardens to enjoy fruits”, said Bui Minh Thang, director of Phuong Thang Trading – Tourism Service Limited Company.

Development tendency
According to the province’s tourism planning, Cam Ranh Bay is one of key position. Decision 201 dated January 22, 2013 of Prime Minister recognized Northern Cam Ranh Peninsula Tourist Area as a national tourist area.
Service - tourism makes up 18.5% in economic structure. In Northern Cam Ranh Peninsula Tourist Area, infrastructure projects have been finished for the first stage.
So far, there have been 30 investors granted investment certificate with 926.3 hectares in area with the total registered investment capital of VND17,294 billion.
Cam Ranh International Airport has the sharpest growth among airports in Vietnam. The airport now receives Vietnam Airlines and Jetstar Pacific Airlines with 12 – 15 domestic flights a day and direct flights from Russia and Korea. The number of passengers via Cam Ranh International Airport will reach 1.6 million in 2015.
Recently, at the meeting with Cam Ranh Development Managing Board, Provincial Standing Party Committee Tran Son Hai said, “Cam Lam District and Cam Ranh City need to develop tourism – service to serve ship building area in Cam Ranh. Two places need to change jobs for the residents as tourist projects have been set up in the coastal area.”
According to Deputy Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People’s Committee Chairman Nguyen Chien Thang, to develop Cam Ranh Bay, it’s necessary to upgrade environment in Thuy Trieu Swamp. The province will pour capital from the Central into build channels around Thuy Trieu Swamp.
The tourism investment in Cam Ranh Bay shows determination of the province in developing economy and society in the south of the province. Hoping that in the coming time, Cam Ranh Bay will change positively to attract more tourists.
