VietJet Air agreed a provisional order for up to 92 Airbus jets worth USD9 billion on September 25. This is the firm’s step of its expansion in a fast-growing regional market.
Vietjet, Vietnam's first privately-owned airline flying since December 2011, has a fleet of nine jets now. At present, the low-cost airline offers domestic flights and only one overseas destination, Thailand’s Bangkok.

This deal means Vietjet Air is aiming to be a multinational budget airline, according to managing director Luu Duc Khanh.
