Despite difficulties of the economy, Khanh Hoa’s tourism still made a good growth in 2013. More than 3 million tourists visited the province during the year, bringing a turnover of VND3,951 billion.
According to the statistics of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Khanh Hoa Province received about 3.1 million visitors in 2013, increasing by 29.42% over 2012 and exceeding by 11.11% over the target. Of the total figure, there are 711,000 foreign visitors, up 34.14%; creating VND3,951 billion in turnover, up 35.85%. The province has 550 hotels with nearly 15,000 rooms, including 5,000 3-5 star rooms.
Truong Dang Tuyen, director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said, “Khanh Hoa’s tourism gets a satisfactory reason in 2013. The number of visitors as well as the turnover hit record so far. This is the effort of the whole tourism industry, especially businesses. The figure of 3 million visitors has finished the target set till 2015.”
“Remarkably, the number of foreign visitors saw a growth in 2013. Beside the sharp increase of Russian tourists, Khanh Hoa also welcomed a large number of visitors from many countries like Korea, China, the US, Australia, France, England and Germany. The diversity of markets make the province’s tourism develop stably”, he added.
Beside impressive figures, Khanh Hoa organized many tourism promoting events successfully such as the sea festival, an international sea tourism fair, a seminar on developing tourist products of the Central Coast, a seminar on cruise tourism in Vietnam, a seminar on marketing and tourist products of ASEAN countries, the Hong Kong – Nha Trang Yacht Race and Vietnam – SND cultural exchange. The events partly have tied the relationship between the province with others.
Hotel and resorts, such as Evason Ana Mandara Resort, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay Resort, Vinpearl Land and Sunrise Nha Trang Beach Hotel, won many honorable domestic and international awards.
Meanwhile, tourist businesses in Khanh Hoa developed many new tourist spots as well as tourist products to serve diversified demands of tourists.
To promote tourism from many markets, in 2013, the province invited famtrip delegations from some countries, including Hong Kong, Korea, China and Ukraine to survey and invest in tourism in Nha Trang.
With successes of 2013, Khanh Hoa’s tourism will have more improvement in the new year, partly impulsing the socioeconomic development of the whole province.
