With a lot of delicious dishes featuring the traditional and regional culture, the cuisine of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa is one of favorites to many tourists, making them stay longer in the land.
Nha Trang’s cuisine is well-known by rural dishes like banh canh, bun ca, nem, etc. and even expensive specialties like lobsters, salangane nests, etc. The abundance of food is one of attractions of the land to domestic and foreign tourists. “My family are from Binh Duong but we love Nha Trang food very much. We travel to Nha Trang every year”, Trinh Thi Thoa, a tourist from Binh Duong Province shared. Norbert Ehrbar, an Australian tourist, said, “Nha Trang food tastes good and is often cooked simply such as boiled, steamed and grilled, which is good for health.”
At the Southern Central round of Golden Spoon 2014 cooking contest just held in Nha Trang, dishes made by Nha Trang cooked also are highly appreciated. According to Ly Huy Sang, Deputy Director of Minh Long 1 Limited Company, the organizer of the contest, “The contest aims to find out good Vietnamese dishes featuring the region and showing Vietnamese cuisine’s values. Nha Trang’s dishes have satisfied our expectation.”

Some dishes Nha Trang’ teams took to the contest were Cam Ranh fish salad, Binh Ba sea-eel, seafood salad, Mai fish salad, Nha Trang vermicelli with fish, crab fried with tamarind, chicken steamed with salangane nest, salangane nest yogurt and some others.
The above dishes are popular in restaurants in Nha Trang City. “Everyday, we serve a lot of customers, most of whom are tourists. Therefore, to make impressions on eaters, we always try to create dishes with the special taste of the land”, said Tran Du, Chef of Champa Island Resort.
Bui Van Phu of Sunrise Nha Trang Beach Hotel & Spa, “Being a five-star hotel but we often put Nha Trang food into our menu. Rural dishes are special to tourists by our culinary arts and decorations.”
