Used to be a Vietnam revolutionary base in two wars of resistance against the French colonists and America, Dong Bo War Zone bears historical values and is a suitable place for tourism.
Dong Bo War Zone, 10 kilometers apart from the center of Nha Trang City, is surrounded by Dong Bo mountain chain, arc shaped, stretching from Nha Trang Bay to Dien Khanh District and Cam Ranh City. Featuring unobstrusive terrain with many caves hiding deeply in primeval forests, the place was the war resistance base of Khanh Hoa army and people from end 1945 to 1975.
Historical values of Dong Bo War Zone need to be preserved and brought into tourism to popularize tourists a historical spot of Khanh Hoa army and people. Only few tourists have visited Dong Bo War Zone so far.

In 2004, Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee supported a project to restore Dong Bo War Zone with an aim to build up a “live museum” to educate revolutionary tradition for young generation. The project comprises traffic system, parking lot, exhibition area, working place and commemoration place. In addition, restoring caves and objects, installing soldiers’ mock-up, and setting up steles inscribing caves’names with feats of arms.
Recently, under the agreement of the provincial Military Headquarters, Hai Dang Limited Company has taken over restoring and preserving Dong Bo vestige. Now, the company has invested a tourist site named Ho Kenh Ha inside Dong Bo base. The tourist site features the natural landscape with green lake surrounded by mountains. Some tents and cottages have been built up for guests but still keeping the nature here.

According to Director of Hai Dang Limited Company Le Xuan Thom, Ho Kenh Ha tourist site is the first step to attract tourists to Dong Bo War Zone. In the coming time, the company will rely on narrations and documents the veterans have shared to make an official document on Dong Bo War Zone to introduce to tourists. Geographic names, objects and vestiges here also will be restored.
Hopefully, by tourist activities, historical revolutionary values of Dong Bo War Zone will be awaken up and then Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa will have one more attractive and meaningful tourist spot.
