More travel firms have taken Russian tourists to Nha Trang, more airlines have opened flying routes from Russia to Cam Ranh International Airport. Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa has come into the season for Russian tourists.
Nha Trang – ideal place for wintering
Thailand used to be a favorite destination in Southeast Asia of Russian tourists for wintering but in recent time, Russian tourists are shifting to Vietnam, a newer and cheaper country. With a lot of advantages such as nature, traffic, cost and infrastructure, Nha Trang has become an attractive destination to Russian tourists. “I decided to visit Nha Trang as being introduced that the city has a very beautiful beach, warm weather and developed tourism industry”, said Ledovskoi Ilya, from Moscow.
The Turkey-based travel firm Pegas Touristik has opened the wave taking Russian tourists to Nha Trang with most of the visitors from the Russian Far East. At present, thanks to the direct flying route from Moscow to Cam Ranh International Airport, more and more tourists from big cities of Russia have travelled to Nha Trang. “The Russian have a big demand for travelling to the beach city Nha Trang. To satisfy this demand , we have opened the direct route from Moscow to Cam Ranh. In the short term, there will be a flight every 10 days carrying over 200 passengers. The number of flights is expected to be raised later”, revealed Le Van Nghia, the representative of Transaero Airlines in Vietnam. Especially, Russian passengers by Transaero Airlines only visit Nha Trang.

More 60,000 Russian tourists to come from now till the end of the year
According to the statistics of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the province has welcomed nearly 690,000 international tourists, increasing by 33% year-on-year. The number of Russian tourists make up 190,000, rising by 35% year-on-year. The total turnover of tourism in the past ten months hit over VND5,000 billion, a 26% year-on-year rise. The figures partly confirm that the province’s tourism is growing well and Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa has become a favorite destination of Russian tourists.
Nha Trang has entered the peak season for welcoming Russian visitors now. On average, about 1,000 Russian tourists come to the city a day. Receiving a large number of visitors but tourism services are still well-done. Nearly 500 hotels with about 12,000 rooms and more than 15,000 staff for tourism in the whole province Khanh Hoa can satisfy the high demand for accomodation.
At present, Russian tourists are being taken to Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa by travel firms, namely Pegas Touristik, Focus Travel, Anex Vietnam and Nhat Minh International Tourism Co., Ltd. Reported, Pegas Touristik will take ten thousands of tourists from Russia to Vietnam in this season, 70% of whom will take Nha Trang as one of their destinations.
According to Phan Thanh Truc, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the province sets a target to welcome about 60,000 Russian tourists, raising the total figure of the year to 250,000. “The high and regular growth in the number of Russian visitors to Khanh Hoa in several recent years proves that the province has attracted Russian tourists. There have been more shopping centers, entertaiment places as well as specific tourist products in Nha Trang suitable with tourists from this market”, she said.
