Over 8 months after being established, emulation block of tourist businesses in Khanh Hoa Province have tried to make contributions into the development of the province’s tourism.
Emulation block of tourist businesses is one of the three emulation blocks under the management of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Just built but the block has made good contributions in many fields. In 2014, businesses in the block delivered VND529.2 billion of tax to the State budget, increasing by nearly 1.6% over 2013, led by Hoan Cau Diamond Bay Resort Co., Ltd. with more than VND264.4 billion, with over VND73 billion, Sao Mai 21st Century Co., Ltd. with VND73 billion and some others.
The tourist businesses also attached importance to policies for laborers. Up to now, 100% of the qualified laborers have had labor contract and enjoyed social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance and some other kinds of insurance. Initative movement to improve techniques has been launched in the block.
Besides, the block also did social and charity activities actively. For example, in November, 2014, more than 650 staff of the businesses joined an event for the environment. They collected wastes along Nha Trang beach, grew green trees and propagandized messages of environment protection. Some businesses such as Hoan Cau Diamond Bay Resort Co., Ltd., Thang Loi Tourism Joint Stock Company (Michelia Hotel), Sovico Khanh Hoa Co., Ltd. (Evason Ana Mandara Nha Trang Resort) helped needy people with hundreds of million VND. “Just established but the block has a very active emulation. Many businesses in the block have been praised and rewarded by the provincial People’s Committee and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism”, said Pham Duy Hung, head of the block.

However, the block also has some difficulties. For example, some members have joined few activities of the block.
To better the block, at the mutual agreement signing conference 2015 of the block, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Phan Thanh Truc asked the block to encourage the participation of some members and enroll some new members, for example big hotels in Nha Trang such as Vinpearl, Sheraton, Havana, InterContinental, Novotel and Yasaka-Saigon-Nhatrang. A project to divide the block into two sectors, one for accommodations and the other service suppliers has also been suggested to make the block’s operation more effective.
It’s possible to say that the emulation block of tourist businesses is necessary for the relationship among the businesses and make their operation better. Their linking has created meaningful activities for the development of the province’s tourism as well as the community.
