To prevent unreasonable increase in prices on the coming Nha Trang Sea Festival, the authorities of Khanh Hoa Province are strengthening control on service prices, especially room prices before and during the festival.
Room bookings rising
Contacting with some hotels in the center of Nha Trang City like Tran Phu, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Nguyen Thien Thuat, etc. we were told that the number of bookings before and on the days of the festival, which will be organized from 11 to 14, July, has increased, but not too sharply, so the hotels are selling rooms at normal prices and commit not to raise the prices.
In some hotels near 2-4 Square, where many main events of the festival will take place, the rate of bookings for the festival time has reached about 80%, but their room prices remain unchanged. Meanwhile, there have been many vacancies in hotels in farther streets like Da Tuong, Hoang Dieu, Dang Tat, etc.

Room prices controlled strictly
Nha Trang is expected to attract about 150,000 visitors on the coming sea festival. Beside hosting activities and ensuring security for the festival, the local authorities will increase inspection to keep prices stable.
The provincial Market Management Department undertakes market control to ensure interests for visitors.
The provincial Department of Finance also will have an interdisciplinary inspection to make unscheduled checks on tourism businesses and hotels. According to Nguyen Be, deputy director of the provincial Department of Finance, hotels and resorts are not allowed to put up room prices more than 50%. “To ensure interests for tourists, before and during the sea festival, we will strengthen inspection and fine violations strictly.”
According to the statistics of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the province now has 587 accommodations with 18,224 rooms, including 9,000 rooms at 1-3 star standard and 4,000 rooms at 4-5 star standard.
