Recently, a Filipino businessman working in Nha Trang named Allister Esguerra has launched a book introducing about Nha Trang tourism called Discover Nha Trang. The book has contributed one more interesting tourism publication about Nha Trang.
Allister Esguerra, born in Manila, Philippines, travelled to Vietnam 5 years ago. Saving much time to study about Vietnamese culture, language and cuisine, he decided to settle down in Nha Trang. He’s currently manager of Nha Trang branch of Emperor Cruises Ltd Co. Allister Esguerra shares his feeling about that Nha Trang features a harmonious beauty of nature and people, which goes with the development of a modern city.

Allister Esguerra has spent much time to visit tourist spots, come to sea villages, wander on streets, and mix with the daily life of local people. On these trips, he took a lot of photographs and noted his feelings about the places he came. Then, he has made the publication Discover Nha Trang. The book comprises 100 pages, written in English. 2,000 copies have been published. The book doesn’t supply information as a guide book. It leads reader to discover the culture as well as the life of Nha Trang people, and beauty spots of the city. For example, in the book, the writer describes his interesting feeling about Nha Trang people’s habit of coming to coffee shops or an experience of having his hair cut on a pavement. The beauty of famous destinations in Nha Trang like Nha Trang Bay, Bai Dai beach, Ba Ho stream, Long Son Pagoga, Ponagar Temple, etc. also is said in the book with his own view. Then, the attractions of Nha Trang carry people to the city to experience and feel.
In addition, a lot of photographs of Nha Trang are printed in the book for readers to discovery Nha Trang more obviously.
“The book is a gift I want to send to Nha Trang and those who love this city. I hope that tourists who read this book will have their discovery when travelling to Nha Trang”, Allister Esguerra said.
Pernament Vice-chairman of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association Nguyen Van Thanh shared his view, “The book does not focus on supplying tourism information but it helps readers recognize the beauty of Nha Trang’s land and people. Such publications are useful to popularize the image of Nha Trang tourism.”
According to Director of Khanh Hoa Tourism Information Promotion Center Luyen Manh Cuong, the book’s writer has a desire to issue it free at local tourism information station. Recognizing this is a useful book, the center has agreed with his suggestion. And, the book Discover Nha Trang has been issued free at some restaurants, hotels and tourism information stations in Nha Trang.
