Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association (KHATA) has recently held a discussion about promoting international visitors to Nha Trang.
According to KHATA chairman Lam Duy Anh Cuong, the 15-day visa exemption for tourists from 5 countries of England, France, Germany, Spain and Italy since July 1 has facilitated tourist businesses to draw tourists from these countries, therefore members of the association should take the advantage to have suitable promotion programs. However, how to advertise effectively needs to be discussed carefully. “The tourism promotion to international markets has been done long since but the businesses did it by themselves. We need a cooperation to do promotion more strongly”, Cuong said.
Vo Dinh Thu, an member of KHATA’s executive board, also shared the same view, “Tourist businesses often do promotion by going abroad to find foreign partners in order to bring tourists to Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa, but this way is suitable for businesses with strong finance as cost for such a journey is much.”

Bui Minh Thang, another member of KHATA’s executive board and the director of Victorytour Company, suggested some measures, “We should work with international travel firms carrying tourists to Vietnam, invite FAMTRIP delegations to the province for them to experience our tourist products.”
In reality, the old tourism promotion way hasn’t been much effective and cost much time and money. Local tourist businesses need cooperate to invite visitors to introduce them tourist products and raise the quality of services and create a local environment for tourism. The businesses need to give their hands to create strong promotions. Nguyen Van Thanh, pernament vice-chairman of KHATA said, “KHATA’s executive board should establish a subcommitte majoring in tourism promotion. The subcommittee will study information, tendency as well as planning in tourism of the province and popularize to the members and set up promotion programs.
It’s possible to say that in comparison with previous years, KHATA has positive changes in its operation. The association has attracted more and more participants, especially big hotels, restaurants and travel firms. With over 120 members, KHATA has intensified the linking between members, shared and solves many difficulties in their tourism activities. KHATA’s campaign for advertising the destination Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa, the tourism promotion in the province is expected to rise and have better results.
