Discovering beauty of the West
We traveled from Nha Trang to Can Tho on this flight and had an interesting experience in this city. Tourist products of the Mekong Delta have 4 main kinds, including orchards and waterways tourism, mangrove forest ecotourism, sea and island tourism and spiritual tourism.
Taking a tour to discover orchards, waterways and spiritual culture, we experienced famous destinations here. From Ninh Kieu, we took a boat on Hau River to see the business of boats and sales on Cai Rang Floating Market in early morning. Coming to My Khanh Tourist Area, we had a chance to row a boat on river, go fishing, pick up fruits, etc.

Leaving Can Tho, we moved to Chau Doc (in An Giang Province) to visit Ba Chua Xu Temple, Tay An Pagoda, Thoai Ngoc Hau Imperial Tomb…Then, coming to Lam Vien Nui Cam Tourist Area at an altitude of 710 meters above sea level, we contemplated original architecture of Phat Lon Pagoda, 9-floor tower in Van Linh Pagoda, the highest Mitreya Buddha statue in the Southeast Asia (33 meters) by fresh Thuy Liem Lake. During the trip, the most impressive was friendly smiles and greetings of the local people.
Cuisine of the West is also attractive with rural food like salted fish hotpot, grilled snakehead fish, vermicelli in savory broth, etc.
Opportunity for tourism development
Before, people travelling from Khanh Hoa to Can Tho went by road only. From January, 2016, the Nha Trang – Can Tho flying route opened by Vietravel and Vasco has shortened the traveling time between the two cities.
To develop this new route, Vietravel has launched 10 new tours. Specifically, on the direction from Can Tho to Nha Trang, there are 6 following tours: Can Tho – Nha Trang 3 days 2 nights, Can Tho – Nha Trang 4 days 3 nights, Can Tho – Nha Trang – Da Lat, Can Tho – Nha Trang – Buon Ma Thuot, Can Tho – Nha Trang – Ninh Chu, and Can Tho – Nha Trang – Tuy Hoa. On the opposite direction, there are 4 tours as follows: Nha Trang – Can Tho – My Tho – Ben Tre, Nha Trang – Can Tho – Ca Mau – Bac Lieu – Soc Trang, Nha Trang – Can Tho – Soc Trang – Chau Doc, and Nha Trang – Can Tho – Chau Doc – Rach Gia – Ha Tien.
According to Le Thanh Phong, the permanent vice-chairman of Mekong Delta, “Nha Trang is a favorite tourist destination of people in the West. The direct flights will surely raise the number of travelers in the coming time. It’s necessary to attract more travelers from Khanh Hoa and neighboring provinces to the West.”
Meanwhile, Luyen Manh Cuong, director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Tourism Information Promotion Center said that Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa is receiving a number of Russian and Chinese visitors for winter vacation. Therefore, tourist businesses of localities should link and cooperate to bring them to the provinces in the West.
It’s possible to say that the direct flight Nha Trang – Can Tho is opening opportunities to develop tourism of the two cities and the two regions.
