Cooperation for tourism development of the whole Central region

During the past years, tourism in the Central region has showed a development, but they have been still separate. It's time for localities to cooperate to step up the regional tourism.

Northern – Southern Central plays an important role in the development of Vietnam tourism. It’s considered an strategic area of Vietnam tourism till 2020 and towards 2030. It’s the place of specific tourist products like sea and island tourism, cultural tourism and ecological tourism. These are three strategic kinds of tourist products of the country.

 

Experts supposed that to promote tourism in the whole Central, it’s necessary to have closer linking among localities in the region. For example, there will be new tours linking provinces like heritage tourism from Thanh Hoa to Quang Nam, spiritual tourism from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue, sea island tourism from Da Nang to Binh Thuan with Khanh Hoa as a highlight.

At a scientific seminar about the cooperation for tourism development of the Northern – Southern Central region held in Nghe An Province on February 20, the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) committed to support VND10 billion to build a planning for tourism of the region and USD3 – 5 billion to develop key infrastructures for tourism in the period of 2016 -2020.

Recently, localities in the Central have signed to commitment for a comprehensive cooperation to exploit tourism potentials of the region. Accordingly, the localities have responsibility to share situation of tourist market as well as their policies to businesses. To develop tourist products, the localities committed to build up and implement an inter-regional cooperation plan. Initially, there will be inter-regional tourism programs, tourism events in the region and suitable tours of travel firms. To tourism promotion and marketing, tourist businesses in localities will be mobilized to take part in national as well as international tourism events to introduce destinations in the Central. The localities in the region have committed a cooperation in develop human resources for tourism and improve laborers’ quality.

 

In the general trend of tourism linking of the Central provinces, Khanh Hoa also is improving service quality and diversifying tourist products to contribute in tourism of the region. In the time to come, Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa will continue investing in infrastructures for tourism such as the airport and the sea port, in the Northern Peninsula Cam Ranh Tourist Area, and build up mud bath to become a specific tourist product of the region. The province also will coordinate with other localities to build up the trademark for the Central region.

 

Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism also suggested some measures, including opening domestic flying routes connecting cities and provinces in the region, linking to attract foreign tourists through East-West Economic Corridor and building special tourist products for each locality.
