Going along with a group of backpackers, we came to an island commune of Ninh Van. “Ninh Van was a new place to us. To arrive Ninh Van, we crossed Hon Heo Mountain on winding road with the sea in one side and the mountain side in the other. We had a time to live with local people here or visited the ship No-number. It was really an interesting experience”, Dong, a backpacker in the group, said.
To organize the trip with 15 participants, 2 weeks before the starting day, information about the destination, route, program of the trip was posted on Facebook to invite participants. Having the same like, the travelers were very congenial. They joined with each other happily and found new friends.

For a 2-day trip, groups of backpackers often choose destinations like Hon Ba, Mui Doi, Binh Hung, Binh Lap, Ninh Van, etc. With more time, they can travel to neighboring provinces like Phu Yen, Dac Lac, Lam Dong or Ninh Thuan. “I make several backpacking trips each year, especially in spring. It brings me new feelings”, said a backpacker living in Nha Trang named Le Tra.
Interesting destinations in Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa also attract foreign backpackers. “We decided to travel to Doc Let Beach to enjoy the wild beauty here. Coming here, we’re very excited with this destination. The weather is fine. The sea is blue. And the vegetation is verdant”, Patrick Garcia, a French backpacker in a group of 6, said.
To serve backpackers, many travel companies in Nha Trang operates tours for them. Tran Hong Quan, sales manager of Easy Rider Travel shared, “We averagely serve 2 groups of backpackers (at least 3 people in one group). We take charge of meals, accommodations and travel for them. Significantly, we have to choose new destinations to introduce them.”
