At present, Long Phu Tourist Company has 18 waterway vehicles in Long Phu Wharf, including fourteen 28-50 passenger boats and one 100-passenger boats. In response with Law on Inland Waterway Traffic and the campaign “Traffic culture with waterway peace”, Long Phu has been chosen as a model of “safe – civilized – cultural wharf”.

According to Nguyen Van Huong, manager of personnel department, the company has established strict regulations the boats as well as the staff. Annually, there are training courses about labor safety, fire prevention and fighting, swimming, rescue, etc. for the company’s crews. They also have been sent to tourism operation classes. A working process has been applied for the crews. Each of them is assigned specific jobs, regularly checked by the company’s leadership. “Accordingly, all the staff understand the significance of implementing the model “safe – civilized – cultural wharf”, Huong said.
Over 5 years, the awareness of keeping waterway traffic order and safety has been improved in the whole company. As a result, in the waters under the management of the company, traffic order has been kept and no waterway traffic accidents occur. Besides, the company has equipped high-quality composite boats, transporting millions of tourists safely, create confidence for tourists.
“All passengers have to wear life jackets execute regulations on boat. The staff are also polite and friendly. The wharf is orderly and clean”, a tourist named Tran Nhat Minh from Ho Chi Minh City commented.
Beside serving tourists well and safely, the company has done charity works. For example, the company and the Waterway Traffic Police jointly gave life-jackets to fishermen in Vung Ngan, Vinh Nguyen Ward, Nha Trang, gave notebooks and life-jackets to pupils of Nguyen Phan Vinh Secondary School, Ninh Van Commune, Ninh Hoa Township.
