Expanding clients and partners
From April 13 to 17, Viet Nam International Travel Mart 2016 took place in Hanoi. 21 tourist businesses in Khanh Hoa Province joined the event. This was an opportunity for tourist businesses in the province to introduce tours, routes, destinations as well as tourist services in Nha Trang. In addition, the businesses offered promotions to tourists and partners. For example, 3-4 star hotels discounted by 30 – 50% on their room prices; entertainment areas: 10 – 30% discount on services; and travel firms: 10 – 20% discount in tour prices.
Before that, 25 tourist businesses in Khanh Hoa also joined Tourism Festival in Ho Chi Minh City with many demand stimulating policies for tourists and businesses. Ung Van Nhut, general director of Nha Trang Global Tourism Company, “Our company offers a 5% discount for partners that sign cooperation agreements with us. We also have many promotions for tourists buying tours to Nha Trang. At the end of the Tourism Festival, there’s an remarkable rise in our clients and partners.”
According to Le Kim Nhut, director of Nha Trang Tre Travel Co., Ltd., more and more tourist businesses in Nha Trang take interest in demand stimulation at tourism events. It helps to raise the number of their partners. “Beside signing contracts to sell tourist products right at the events, the businesses also can learn modes and strategies mutually. Then, they can improve quality of their tourist products and have new ones to attract tourists”, Le Kim Nhut said.

Stimulating travel demand by rule
Join demand stimulating programs really gives benefits. However, it’s necessary to avoid downing prices unhealthily. “We encourage businesses to join travel demand stimulating programs but it has to conform rules”, said Nguyen Van Thanh, Permanent Vice-chairman of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association.
Accordingly, the association members are required to report about promotions. The promotions are applied only for partners and clients who sign contracts when the businesses join travel demand stimulating programs. Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association has signed cooperation agreements with tourism associations of some provinces. Then, association members are introduced many partners, supported in marketing and involved in events the association holds. If a member doesn’t comfort rules, other members and partners will terminate cooperation.
“Up to now, Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association has signed tourism cooperation agreements with tourism associations of Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Binh Thuan, Lam Dong and Hanoi. It means we have good relationships with hundreds of tourist businesses that are member of the associations. This is a reason for tourist businesses to stimulate travel demand successfully”, said Nguyen Van Thanh.
