After the time of decrease, the market of Russian visitors to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa sees recovery signals with slight year-on-year increase in number.
According to statistics of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), the number of Russian visitors to Vietnam during the past five months reached 180,219, a 23.3% rise year-on-year. In Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa, the figure was 81,000 Russian vistors, a 2% rise year-on-year. It’s a recovery signal of this market in the coming time, especially from September, the peak time of Russian tourists.

The province now has 7 companies majoring in Russian tourists, namely AB Tour, Anex Vietnam, Hai Dang, Sputnik Tour, Golden Smile Travel, Hoa Binh Tour Operator, and Phuong Dong. In addition, one branch and two offices which have licence for international travel receive Russian tourists.
Anex Vietnam is the company taking a large number of Russian visitors to Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa with the figure of 62,400 during the past five months. According to Anex Vietnam’s sales manager Nguyen Ngoc Luong, the company has taken Russian tourists to Nha Trang from 22 big cities of Russia. The visitors stay at Nha Trang at least 10 nights. “Russian Ruble value has become better, so Russian people are returning to travel. Monthly Russian visitors of our company are rising. To attract Russian tourists, we do marketing for the destination Nha Trang continuously”, Luong said.
From September to December, Anex Vietnam expects to take 19,000 – 21,000 Russian visitors to Nha Trang each month.
According to Deputy director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Tourism Phan Thanh Truc, the recovery of Russian visitors is good for the province’s tourism. It’s owning to patience and measures to keep this market. “We know that some companies suffered loss to keep air routes as well as visitors to Nha Trang. The province also supported them to overcome difficulties. We hope the number of Russian to rise more in the time to come”, she said.
Moreover, Russian visitors in Nha Trang now have highed spending than before. That shows that Nha Trang tourism is still attractive to Russian tourists.
