On December 29, first flight from Kazakhstan arrived in Cam Ranh International Airport, carrying 300 passengers to Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa. The passengers will spend a 9-day vacation in Nha Trang. “I had thought of some places like Thailand and Indonesia, but finally I chose Nha Trang as the destination of my vacation. Nha Trang has beautiful sea – island landscapes. I hope my vacation will be wonderful here”, said Komarova Anastassiya, a passenger from the flight.

According to Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Tourism, visitors to Nha Trang from Kazakhstan in 2016 total over 3,700, ranking the 8th in Asian countries and territories having most visitors to Nha Trang. Most of the visitors to Nha Trang went from Ho Chi Minh City. “This is the first time tourists from Kazakhstan flying directly to Khanh Hoa. We hope it will open a new route”, said Nguyen Van Toan, deputy director of Sunlinght Travel Company.
This direct flight is planned to be continued till March, 2017 with a flight every 9 days by Boeing 757, departing at Almaty, Kazakhstan. With flying time of 10 hours and no transit, it’s convenient for tourists from Kazakhstan to travel to Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa.
According to Luyen Manh Cuong, director of the provincial Tourism Information Promotion Center, Vietnam and Kazakhstan have signed agreement on cooperation in tourism since 2011; therefore more and more tourists from Kazakhstan have traveled to Vietnam, including Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa. Most of the tourists from Kazakhstan are from big cities, so they are high spenders. They often stay at 3-5 star hotels and use high-grade services. “We hope that Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa can receive more tourists from Kazakhstan after the direct flight between Kazakhstan and our city opens”, Cuong said.
