According to the provincial Department of Tourism, the whole province welcomed 175,208 tourists during the lunar new year festival (a 9% increase year-on-year), including 47,123 international ones (30% up). Tourism turnover of the province on this occasion reached VND366 billion (nearly 19% up year-on-year). Average room occupation rate was over 75% (10% increase year-on-year).
During the lunar new year festival, hotels and tourist destinations in Nha Trang organized a lot of activities like unicorn, traditional music, calligraphy, folk games, etc. and launched some promotions. Fire prevention, security and food safety are ensured.

Sea – island tours still attracted most tourists. Beside Cau Da Port, Nha Trang Port was opened for tourists to take sea – island tours; therefore, transporting to islands by boat was quicker.
During the festival, 34,600 took tours to islands on Nha Trang Bay, a 15% increase year-on-year. In addition, 60,000 visited Vinpearl Land Nha Trang. The number of visitors to Monkey Island and Hoa Lan Island was 11,000.

Especially, on the first day of the lunar new year, the provincial Department of Tourism associated with Saigontourist and Tan Cang Cam Ranh hold a ceremony to welcome the Malaysian cruise ship Superstar Virgo, which was the first cruise ship to the province in the lunar new year. This ship put more than 2,300 tourists ashore. 1,500 of them took tours to Nha Trang City.
