Stimulating travel by train

By linking with Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Assocciation and travel firms in the province, Nha Trang branch of Vietnam Railway has raised and diversified the number of passengers.

 

According to Le Hong Son, deputy director of Nha Trang branch of Vietnam Railway, to diversify passenger markets, the branch has aimed to attract tourists of travel firms. In 2016, the branch requested Sai Gon Railways to signed with Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association and travel firms to carry out a package to stimulate traveling by train. To have more attraction, Sai Gon Railways has launched a couple of new high-quality trains (SNT1 and SNT2) on Nha Trang – Ho Chi Minh City route. The new trains have modern high-class design and interior.

By incentives, Nha Trang branch of Vietnam Railways has signed transport contracts with travel companies with nearly 1,200 seats in total from October 10 up to now.

Besides, the branch keeps improving services for passengers. For instance, open letters have been sent to hotels in Nha Trang City to introduce about trains, ways of delivering tickets to buyers, etc. Service quality has been improved to make passengers feel comfort during their itinerary. Marketing also has been done better. Especially, the railway staff have been trained to be more polite and friendly with passengers.

 

Moreover, the branch has flexible ticket fare policies suitable with different time to attract more passengers.

 

According to Nguyen Van Thanh - Permanent Vice-chairman of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, the linking between the railway and the association is a significant step. The association so far has mobilized 16 member travel companies to join in the market stimulation package, which gives them some benefits like 10 – 40% discount on ticket fares and seats on demand.
