During past years, the city’s tourism has kept good growth. From 2010 up to now, turnover of tourism has risen by 15 – 25% each year. Specifically, in 2010, tourism turnover of the city was VND1,873 billion; the number of visitors was 1.8 million, including 387,0000 international ones. Till 2016, the figures rose to VND5,417 billion and 4.2 million visitors, including 1 million international ones.
Along with the increase in visitor number, accommodations have developed promptly. Till Februrary, 2017, the city has 714 hotels and resorts with 24,792 rooms. 83 of them are ranked 3 – 5 stars, with 12,842 rooms. The high-grade hotels aim to welcome highly-spending and long-staying visitors.
According to Vice-chairman of Nha Trang People’s Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan, upholding the strength of tourism, Resolution of Nha Trang City Party Assembly, term of 2015 – 2020 defines to build Nha Trang to be a tourist center as well as an organization place of big events of national and international stature. To keep Nha Trang as a safe and attractive destination, the city will improve its tourism environment by ensuring safety and order for tourist activities, building a civilized and friendly urban area, carry out behavior regulations in tourism, etc. Marketing for tourism of the city will be done more.
