More trains added

According to Nguyen Thi Lan Hue, an official of Nha Trang Railway Station, to serve the high demand for travel on this holiday, Sai Gon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company will add some couples of trains on Ho Chi Minh City – Nha Trang route beside usual trains. Nha Trang Railway Station has sold the tickets for passengers since mid March.

Besides, a couple of trains SNT12 and SNT5 will be added before and after the holiday on April 28 and May 5. SNT12 is scheduled to depart at Sai Gon Railway Station at 23:50 on April 28, and arrive at Nha Trang Railway Station at 9:34 on April 29. SNT5 with 759 seats is scheduled to depart at Nha Trang Railway Station at 10:30 on May 2, and arrive at Sai Gon Railway Station 18:50 on the same day. Currently, there are many available seats on the two trains. It costs VND425,000 for a soft-seat ticket and VND210,000 for a hard-seat one.

Train tickets on the holiday have increased sharply. For example, a berth ticket on Nha Trang – Sai Gon SNT12 train costs VND682,000 – VND727,000 instead of VND420,000 – VND450,000 in usual days. Le Hong Son, deputy director of Nha Trang Railway, said, “Before that, the company offered deep discount on train tickets. Train tickets on the holiday see increase. This increase in train tickets partly makes up for the empty directions during the holiday. Another reason is the high demand for travel.”

According to Nguyen Van Dan, deputy director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Transport, there are 14 bus firms with more than 200 buses running on fixed routes. Forecasting the high demand for travel during the holiday, the department has worked with the us firms and bus stations to have plan providing against overload. Aboout bus price, the provincial Department of Finance and the Department of Transport have unanimously allowed transport businesses to increase ticket price by up to 40% to make up for the empty directions. Specifially, on Nha Trang – Ho Chi Minh City route,  bus tickets are not allowed to increase price before the holiday, but allowed to increase price in two days May 1 and 2. Buses on other route are not allowed to increase ticket price. The provincial Department of Finance and the Department of Transport will jointly punish transport businesses that increase ticket price more than the rate in regulation.
