Korean visitors to Nha Trang on the rise
Amiana Resort Nha Trang and the provincial Department of Tourism have jointly welcomed a group of Korean tourist businesses to welcome tourist products and services in Nha Trang. They are big Korean businesses like Hanjin Travel, Hanatour, Verygood Tour, etc. and airlines Korean Air and Ok Air. In three days in Nha Trang, the group experienced tours such as city tour, island tour, diving and night sea tour by Emperor Cruises. In addition, the group had a meeting with leadership of the provincial Department of Tourism and some tourist businesses in Nha Trang.
Most of Korean tourists are high spenders. They often stay in 3-5 star resorts and hotels like Diamond Bay, Sheraton Nha Trang, Sunrise Nha Trang, Novotel Nha Trang, Vinpearl Resort, etc. They use high-class services like golf, mud bath, luxury cuisine, etc. “Korean people like traveling, especially to coastal places. Nha Trang features favorable climate, beautiful beaches and peaceful life, which is suitable with Korean tourists”, said Kim Dae Hwan, from Hanjin Travel. Along with natural landscapes and climate, infrastructure conditions of Nha Trang also can satisfy demands of Korean tourists.
Most of Korean visitors come to Nha Trang from Ha noi and Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, there have been two direct flights a week from Seoul to Cam Ranh International Airport by Korean Air since 2014.

Intensifying tourism promotion
According to the statistics of the provincial Department of Tourism, the total number of Korean visitors to Nha Trang in 2016 was 47,000, and the figure in the three months of the year was 9,872. Korean market ranks the third in the number of visitors to Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa. However, the figures were lower than the potential. Therefore, it’s necessary to have more effective ways to attract tourists from this country. Noh TaeHo, the representative of Ok Air said that in his opinion, to draw more visitors, Khanh Hoa’s tourism need to work with airlines to open more flights from Korea to Cam Ranh International Airport. He also believed that if there were more encouragement policies, airlines would pour investment in such flights. Korean tourist companies also require security and good environment when taking tourists to destinations.
According to Director of the provincial Department of Tourism Tran Viet Trung, the welcoming representatives of Korean tourist companies was one of specific action to promote drawing more Korean visitors. The two sides have discussed more effective cooperation to reach target of increasing Korean visitors to Nha Trang sharply from now till 2020.
