Vietnam Airlines cancelled eight flights, coded VN9556, VN9561, VN1557, VN7554, VN1944, VN1945, VN1344 and VN9351, between Hanoi, Da Nang, HCM City and Cam Ranh Airport in central Khanh Hoa province to avoid the impacts of the typhoon.
It also called off other two from/to Lien Khuong Airport, coded VN1380 and VN1381, connecting HCM City and Da Lat city in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.
The carrier plans to reschedule the flights on the following day, November 5.
Budget airline Jetstar Pacific will also change departure and arrival times of several flights on November 4 to ensure travel safety.
The two companies warned that there will be delays in some of their domestic flights due to the storm and advised passengers who plan to fly from/to airports in Cam Ranh, Quy Nhon, Tuy Hoa, Da Lat, Pleiku and Buon Ma Thuot to regularly check weather reports and notifications from the airlines.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, a tropical depression on the East Sea had gained strength to become Typhoon Damrey on morning of November 2.
At that time, the storm was at level 8 (of 18), however, when coming ashore, it can reach levels 10 to 13. Observatories in Hong Kong and Japan forecasted that storm Damrey can reach levels 11 to 14 (of 18), posing severe weather threats.
By 13:00 on November 3, the storm was about 350 km east off the coast of Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan provinces, with sustained wind speed of 115-135 km per hour, causing heavy downpours from Quang Tri to Binh Thuan provinces.
