According to Andy Treadwell, director of Singapore Yacht Events, Nha Trang is an attractive destination to yacht lovers thanks to local businessmen’s efforts to connect with yacht clubs and yacht events. He shared that he was very surprised at the landscape of Nha Trang at his first visit to the city. Nha Trang also has specifications like wind speed, wave height, water level, salinity, etc. suitable with yachting and yacht races.
From 2004 up to now, Hong Kong - Nha Trang yacht race has taken place for seven times. During the past 14 years, information and images about the race have partly introduced tourism potentials of Nha Trang and attracted more visitors to the city. Nha Trang has become a destination in the world yacht map.
AnaMarina, first marina in Nha Trang and in Vietnam, is planned to be put its first phase into operation officially in April, 2018. AnaMarina is the first Marina project in Vietnam, providing sheltered berthing for yachts. It’s expected to become the place for international yachts to dock and yachting events. It’s also the station of AnaMarina Yacht Club, the first yacht club in Vietnam. The club initially has 6 members who are yachting lovers and desire to popularize tourism of Nha Trang as well as Vietnam worldwide. The club organizes not only yachting activities and events but sea sports as well. It also guides swimming skills, sea survival skills, yacht driving, etc.

AnaMarina President and CEO Le Bao Hieu confided that many years ago, when coming to countries with yachts, he thought that one day Nha Trang would be a destination for such luxury yachts. It is coming true now. It promises to impulse yachting movement in the country and open exchange and investment opportunities for foreign businesses who are yachting lovers.
In reality, after Hong Kong – Nha Trang yacht races, some racers returned Nha Trang to invest and do business. “We aims to make Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa to become a familiar destination for yachts worldwide. Then, more and more people will know Nha Trang and contribute into the city’s development. In addition, we will make yachting become a tourist products for more people to experience”, Le Bao Hieu said.
In a near future, a lot of luxury yachts will be seen in Nha Trang. That image will bring the city a modern nautical lifestyle.
