Cam Ranh International Terminal is waiting for permission from Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam and is expected to start operation on June 27, according to the leadership of Cam Ranh International Terminal Company.
The project, starting construction in September, 2016, was invested by Cam Ranh International Terminal Company with VND3,735 billion for the phrase 1A. Up to now, the project has finished basically and is ready to start operation. As planned, the terminal would be put into service in March, 2018 but some problems, especially the storm Damrey in end 2017, made the work progress stop for a long time.
The international terminal is qualified for 4-star standards with modern designs and smart technological devices. Duty-free section has a lot of world famous trademarks. Especially, the terminal has auto and smart fire fighting system. Outside items of the terminal like parking, check-in section and way from the old terminal to the new terminal are being finished promptly.
Cam Ranh International Terminal has total area of 51,300 sq.m.. The project comprises three phases with total capacity of 8 million passengers/year. The phase 1A is designed to receive 2.5 million passengers/year till 2020. In the phase 1B, the terminal is planned to serve 4 million passengers/year. Total expenditure for 1A and 1B is nearly VND4,000 billion. The second phase (after 2030) is expected to serve 8 million passengers/year.
