Tourism activities in Khanh Hoa Province in the first half of 2018 has been very busy. The number of visitors as well as tourism revenue has risen sharply year-on-year.
According to the provincial Department of Tourism, in the first half of the year, the whole province has received 3.2 million guests (a 23% increase year-on-year), including 1.5 million international ones (58% up). The number of visitors from China and Russia has kept rising. New direct flights have also raised visitors from Korea and Malaysia. Visitors from England, France, the US, Canada, etc. has shown rising signs. Tourism revenue of the province in the first half of 2018 is estimated to be about VND10,100 billion, a 34% increase year-on-year.
The provincial Department of Tourism and related departments have intensified inspection on tourism businesses in accomodation, travel and transport. Besides, the province has also intensified propaganda about regulations related to tourism business. Therefore, tourism activities in the province are more stable than before.

Over many years, Khanh Hoa Province has considered tourism as a key economy, towards high-class tourism. In meetings with the provincial Department of Tourism, Standing Vice-chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Son Hai emphasized that the tourism need to develop high-class tourist products and promote tourism in markets of high-spending tourists. To do it, it’s neccesary to develop accomodations as well as tourist products like entainment, sea sports, island and sea discovery, cultural activities, etc.
Recently, in a meeting with the provincial leadership, Director of the provincial Department of Tourism Tran Viet Trung said that in the time to come, the department will focus on tourism promotion in Korea, Japan, Australia and the Western European countries. The department also suggested the province having favors for projects in culture and entertainment.
To partly improve quality of tourism activities in the province more, in the time to come, the provincial Department of Tourism will launch the implementation of the local regulations on tourist services and call people to keep order, environment and civilized life.
Besides, the provincial Department of Tourism also has a plan to assess service quality of some accomodations and destinations. To partly solve the lack of human resource, the department will build datas and forecast of labor demand in tourism for the connection between tourism training colleges and businesses.
