Get up early and row kayak on Cai River, you can feel a fresh morning of the surburb. The river flows slightly so it’s easy to row boat. You also can contemplate the view of the peaceful village by the river. When the sun rises, you can arrive in the river mouth to see the view of fishing boats gathering there. Going ashore, you can visit Ponagar Temple, a ancient vestige of Cham culture.

If you don’t live travel on river, you can discover villages in Nha Trang by road. Go on 23-10 Street and turn left into Luong Dinh Cua Street. Along this road are green gardens of local people. Riding a bike or a motorbike on this road in early morning, you can feel fresh air of the countryside. On this road, you can drop rural market Vinh Ngoc or some food stores to enjoy local food and talk with local people.
You also visit Phu Vinh Village in Vinh Thanh Commune, where ancient houses which are hundreds years old still exist. The most well-known is the ancient house of Nguyen Xuan Hai. It’s a Vietnamese traditional ancient house with a big fruit garden. You can enjoy local fruits and buy some rural souvenir gifts here.

After Phu Vinh Village, you can keep going on Luong Dinh Cua Street to come to Vinh Trung Commune or turn left to Vinh Phuong Commune. These places are still rural with old houses, green vegetable fields, rows of areca trees, etc.
