The number of hotels and resorts in the province so far this year has increased by nearly 2,000 rooms over the figure at the end of 2018. The number of rooms in the whole province may reach 50,000 by the end of this year. Because the number of rooms has risen rapidly, room occupation is still low despite the sharp increase in number of visitors.
In the first three months of this year, average room occupation is estimated to be 47.63%, far lower than the figure of 71.70% in the same period last year. Average room occupation at 3-5 star accommodations is 58.43%; 1-2 star rate is 30.61%.
