Korean tourists in Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa rising sharply

According to statistics of the provincial Department of Tourism, in 2018, Khanh Hoa received more than 83,300 Korean visitors, increasing by 105% over the figure in 2017. In the first two months of 2019, 27,850 Korean tourists have come to the province, a three-time increase year-on-year. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, deputy director of the provincial Department of Tourism, said that the increase in Korean tourists to Khanh Hoa Province is the result of the tourism promotion process of the department and tourism businesses. Advantages of weather, culture, cuisine and hospitality have helped tourism of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa to make good impressions on Korean visitors.

Nha Trang is the favorite destination of Korea tourists now, therefore airlines have opened many air routes connecting Korea to Nha Trang. At present, 6 airlines are flying on Incheon - Cam Ranh route with 42 flights a week in total. 4 out of the 6 airlines are from Korea, namely Korean Air, Jeju Air, Eastar Jet and T’way, and 2 are of Vietnam, namely Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air. Each flight carries about 200 passengers on average. Therefore, the number of Korea visitors to Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa will keep rising sharply.
 
As planned, Vietjet Air will open Cam Ranh – Busan air route from July 16, 2019 with three flights a week from Cam Ranh to Busan on every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday, and four flights a week from Busan to Cam ranh on every Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. T’way also intends to open Cam Ranh – Daegu in the time to come. The air routes connecting Cam Ranh with Daegu and Busan is expected to facilitate drawing tourists from the southern provinces of Korea to Khanh Hoa Province.
 
However, there are few people know Korean now. Hotels in Nha Trang are seeking employees who know Korean. According to Deputy director of the provincial Department of Tourism Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, imminently, travel companies may recruit tourist guides knowing Korean from other places or use English speaking narrators and then a group leader will interpret into Korean. For the long term, the provincial Department of Tourism will work with colleges to open Korean courses for international tourist guides…
 
Nguyen Van Thanh, Standing Vice-chairman of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, said that some foreign language centers in Nha Trang have Korean classes. People working in tourism can take these courses to communicate with Korean tourists.
