8 o'clock one day, we came to the wharf in Vinh Ngoc commune to visit Le Cong Loc's riverside ecotourism model in Xuan Ngoc village. It takes less than 10 minutes to go to the "chicken island". Loc said, he inherited the 1,500 m2 plot of land along the foot of Hon Thom mountain (Vinh Ngoc commune) but its soil was dry, poor and difficult for planting. From a deserted field by Cai River, his place has become a destination for visitors. He estimates that the restaurant attracts 50 - 70 guests every day; the number of visitors doubles Saturday and Sunday. His average income is 40-50 million VND month currently. Mr. Loc has invested 2 canoes, worth VND400 million in total to carry guests on the river.
Coming to another rural restaurants named Ao Thu Quan of Phung Xuan Thu, a local person in Phuoc Trung Hamlet, Phuoc Dong Commune, visitors will be fascinated by a very rustic scenery such as fishing rods, water hyacinth, a small leaf roof ... like Vietnamese villages. Its owner said that he has invested more than VND 1 billion to build 4 big huts, 5 small huts, iron bridges for tourists to do fishing and enjoy country dishes... Guests may be local people, domestic tourists or foreign tourists. Each day, the place welcomes about 100 - 200 guests. Currently, the restaurant’s staff has 10 - 12 , including 3 disable employee. In the coming time, the restaurant will raise chickens, grow vegetables to create jobs for people with disabilities.

According to Nha Trang City Farmers’ Association, implementing Action Program No. 14 (July 24, 2017) of the Provincial Party Committee to develop tourism as a key economic sector, Nha Trang City Standing Party Committee has approved the plan of the city Farmers’ Association on "Model combining farming with tourism services". From this plan, the city Farmers’ Association has mobilized and called farmers to replicate economic models and change industries in line with the urban development program, especially the development of " Model combining farming with tourism services" to exploit the potentials and strengths of agriculture and rural areas, bring high profits in farming and tourism, create jobs and increase incomes for farmers.
According to Chairman of Nha Trang City Farmers’ Association Nguyen Trung Dung, linking agriculture and tourism is a new direction. Currently, the city Farmers’ Association is coordinating with the provincial Farmers’ Association to survey a number of garden tourism models and have solutions to preserving and renovating tourism resources, building homestay service model in villages and communes, and restoring handicrafts ... Besides, farming of households, cooperatives and enterprises, villages producing farming tools, weaving, processing seafood,etc. and craft villages along Cai River in Nha Trang will contribute to enriching and diversifying agricultural tourism in rural areas.
