Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism in cooperation with Khanh Hoa Department of Natural Resources & Environment held a workshop on environmental protection for more than 100 tourism and travel businesses in the province.
The representatives watched a plastic polution documentary, learned about the Environmental Protection Law 2014 and relevant guidance documents; Environmental Protection regulations at dwelling establishments under the regulations of the Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism.

Earlier, Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism had organized several activities to raise public awareness of environmental protection towards the reduction in plastic use and waste in tourism practice; launched the campaign against plastic pollution and the idea contest on plastic waste reduction at dwelling establishments; environmental protection campaign “No single-use plastics”, etc.
Presently, there are nearly 800 dwelling establishments with 49,187 rooms, more than 30 tourism attractions. In the first 9 months of 2019, Khanh Hoa received more than 5.6 million tourists, a year-on-year increase of 16.4%, including 2.8 million international arrivals, up 42%. The turnover of accommodation establishments was estimated at over VND20,749 billion, a rise of 25% compared with the same period last year.
