Due to the storm No. 6 called Nakri, the Aviation Administration of Vietnam has just commanded airlines to stop accepting aircrafts to Cam Ranh International Airport to ensure security and safety for their operations on November 10 and 11.
The administration has decided to close Cam Ranh airport from 18:00 November 10 to 6:00 November 11. Airlines will also adjust their plans to operate flights in the areas affected by the storm Nakri.
6 flights of Vietnam Airlines between Hanoi and Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang including VN1564, VN1565, VN1356, VN1357, VN1358, VN1359 will depart sooner by from 1 hour 40 minutes to more than 3 hours for flights to take off and land in Nha Trang before 18:00 today as Cam Ranh airport will be closed after this time. In addition, Vietnam Airlines will delay departure time from 12 hours to 18 hours for 4 international flights to November 11, including VN718 and VN719 between Nha Trang and Chengdu (China); VN440 and VN441 between Nha Trang and Seoul (South Korea).
Bamboo Airways also will change the schedule of two flights to and from Cam Ranh airport and cancel two flights to and from Vinh airport (Nghe An).
The Aviation Administration of Vietnam also requires airlines to recommend passengers, who have plan to travel to and from airports in the South Central region during this time, to regularly monitor and update weather information and changes in flying schedules. These adjustments aim to ensure absolute safety for flights due to majeure weather conditions.
