The National Administration of Tourism (under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) has just held a seminar on supporting the development of golf tourism products in Da Nang. At the seminar, participants discussed issues of cooperation and connection between service providers, tour operators at golf courses in the Central region. According to the participants, Khanh Hoa with a system of golf courses overlooking the sea, modern infrastructure and auxiliary services has good conditions to develop golf tourism.
Golf tourism is a high-class tourism, giving a high turnover. Currently, Khanh Hoa has 3 golf courses in operation, namely Diamond Bay Golf Course, Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang and KN Golf Links Cam Ranh. Starting operation in 2008. Diamond Bay Golf Course is the first golf course in Khanh Hoa.
Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang, located on Hon Tre Island, is the first golf course on an island of Vietnam. The golf course is built on an area of 182ha with 18 holes at international standards. In 2013, Vinpearl Golf Nha Trang won the title of "Golf course with the most beautiful natural landscape in Vietnam" by Vietnam Golf Magazine in collaboration with Vietnam Golf Association, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and the Administration of Sports. In 2013 and 2014, Vinpearl Nha Trang golf course was continuously awarded the certificate of excellence by the world's largest travel site, Tripadvisor.com, based on the experience of visitors around the world.

Nguyen Van Thanh - Permanent Vice Chairman of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association said, “According to a survey carried by Vietnam Tourism Association, South Korea and Japan are the two leading golf markets of Vietnam. In recent years, the travel agencies have brought a lot of Korean golf players to Khanh Hoa, and most of them gave good feedbacks. In the coming time, if direct flight between Japan and Khanh Hoa opens, the number of tourists coming to Khanh Hoa to play golf will increase more.”
Referring to potentials to develop golf tourism products, Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Tourism said, in the orientation to make Khanh Hoa tourism become a key economic industry, besides sea and island tourism as main products, the province also aims to high quality tourism products, including golf tourism. According to tourism experts, Khanh Hoa has conditions to attract golf tourists from countries in Asia, especially Korea and Japan. However, to become an ideal destination, positioned on the world map of golf tourism, a lot of work still needs to be done, for example, intensifying marketing for golf tourism products in potential markets, connecting services to become a complete tourism product, etc.
