Draft plan built
Khanh Hoa Province’s Department of Tourism and the Department of Information and Communications on November 15 chaired a meeting to comment on the draft of IT application plan in tourism activities in the province in the period of 2019-2020 and orientation to 2025. Director of the Department of Tourism Tran Viet Trung said that the purpose of this plan is to create an information system, utilities to serve tourists, improve the effectiveness of marketing and satisfy requirements on reforming and improving the efficiency of State management, and contribute to the growth and sustainable development of tourism activities in the province.
According to the draft plan made by the provincial Department of Tourism, in the coming time, the Department of Tourism along with the relevant departments and agencies shall build a digital database system for the tourism, intensify applying digital technology to support tourists before and after their trips. In particular, the Provincial Police will preside over the upgrading and completion of the accommodation management application software; the provincial Department of Information and Communications shall take charge of developing digital maps of tourist sites, destinations, and service facilities meeting tourist standards; the Department of Culture - Sports completes the 3D digitization of artifacts, historical and cultural works in Nha Trang to introduce the city's culture and history to visitors, etc.
To support tourists, the provincial Department of Tourism shall build a new portal about Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism on the basis of nhatrang-travel.com and nhatrang-travel.com.vn, and complete the mobile application to provide destination information and integrate a *2258 number to support travelers. At the same time, the Department of Tourism has also built a virtual tour guide software, automatically doing voice-over in some popular languages, and develop travel service applications on electronic travel trading platforms and online payment applications on smart mobile devices. Also in the draft plan, the Department of Tourism proposes the construction of a tourism control center of the province for monitoring and supporting tourists in case of emergency or assistance needed.

Accompany of enterprises
The draft plan on applying IT in tourism activities also encourages businesses to participate in related projects. Recently, the provincial Department of Tourism has signed a memorandum of understanding with Viettel Khanh Hoa and Smart Travel Solution on the IT application in tourism activities of the province. According to the cooperation agreement, Viettel Khanh Hoa and Smart Travel Solution will cooperate with the Department of Tourism to conduct a current situation survey and propose specific solutions for the deployment of the Smart Tourism System to provide devices for management agencies as well as support businesses, visitors and locals in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa. Viettel Khanh Hoa and Smart Travel Solution are also committed to suggest to the province the most advanced solutions and technologies suitable with the city. Currently, Smart Travel Solution is building an application called My NhaTrang support visitors to Khanh Hoa. This application will provide travelers with basic information such as what to eat, where to stay, shopping, attractions, driving directions, vehicle suggestions, tour prices and programs.
At the meeting on November 15, Viettel Khanh Hoa and Smart Travel Solution also proposed a project to build and install a free wifi system in Nha Trang. According to the project, in the first phase, about 44 wifi hotspots will be installed along Tran Phu Street for locals and tourists to access the Internet for free. In the future, it will expand to the whole city.
With the good preparations, in the coming time, the application of IT in Khanh Hoa is expected to be forwarded, improving the competitiveness for tourism of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa.
