Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism in association with Cam Ranh International Airport held a ceremony on December 18 to welcome the 3.5 millionth international visitor to Khanh Hoa and the 10 millionth passenger to Cam Ranh International Airport in 2019. Present at the event were Nguyen Khac Dinh, Central Party Committee Member, Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Secretary; Nguyen Dac Tai, Standing Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee; leaders of Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, Airports Corporation of Vietnam.
The 3.5 millionth visitor to Khanh Hoa was Jung Yo Hee, a lady from South Korea and the 10 millionth passenger to Cam Ranh International Airport was Pham Duy Khiem, Vietnam. The two passengers were both on VJ837 Vietjet flight from Incheon (South Korea) to Cam Ranh. As soon as arriving at Cam Ranh International Airport, they were greeted with flowers, gifts and certificates by provincial leaders together with representatives of Airports Corporation of Vietnam, Cam Ranh International Airport.
According to the leader of Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, more than 7 million tourist arrivals are expected to visit Khanh Hoa in 2019, up by 13.3%, including 3.56 international ones, up 28.4% compared with last year. Especially, 80% of visitors to Khanh Hoa have been through Cam Ranh International Airport.
2 international airlines and 4 domestic ones are operating 80 international flights to Cam Ranh International Airport, connecting Khanh Hoa to 8 countries and territories, including Russia, China, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand; and Taiwan, Macau, Hong Kong (China). Besides, the 4 domestic airlines are serving 7 domestic flight services connecting with Cam Ranh International Airport. In 2019, Cam Ranh International Airport has served some 58,000 flights carrying 10 million passengers, including 6.44 million international tourists, a year-on-year increase of 22%.
