Nguyen Tan Tuan, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presided over a meeting on July 28 on the Department of Tourism’s proposal for hosting the Routes Asia Forum 2022.
The annual Routes Asia Forum provides a platform for the region's airlines, airports and tourism authorities to meet, share best practice and collaborate to develop existing relationships.
At the meeting, the Department of Tourism presented the proposal to host Routes Asia Forum 2022 to the provincial People's Committee and made an application to the organizing board of Routes Asia Forum 2022 in Khanh Hoa; and establish a cooperation board in the preparation for the event. According to the Department of Tourism, some highlights in the forum are seminars, exhibitions, airline exchange, survey of tourist destinations, etc in Khanh Hoa. The estimated cost is approximately USD3.3 to 3.5 million funded by Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company on the basis of coordination with related State agencies.
According to the report by Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company, the application for hosting the forum must be completed in 2020. The forum will be postponed until the first quarter of 2023 due to COVID-19.
Nguyen Tan Tuan initially allowed the Department of Tourism to coordinate with businesses and related units to review the proposal; requested the Department of Tourism to collaborate with departments and agencies to make a specific scenario, containing purposes, meanings, requirements, contents, guests and responsibilities of beneficiary enterprises; and then report to provincial People’s Committee for consideration. In addition, activities to promote the tourist destination of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa in the overall tourism development program of the province are required to be organized before the forum.
