Khanh Hoa is a key national defense and security area as well as one of the major tourist centers of the country. The Resolution of the Congress of the Party Committee of the provincial Police for the 2015-2020 term clearly defined the goal and task of maintaining security in all situations, creating an orderly and safe social environment for the development of tourism in particular and the socio-economic development of the province in general.
In charge of implementing the project "Ensuring national security and social order and safety in tourism business activities in the province", the Party Committee of the provincial Police has developed a thematic resolution to submit to the provincial Party Committee and the provincial People's Committee to direct the whole political system to participate in the implementation, and direct the police of units and localities to take the initiative in having plans and solutions to ensure good security. The provincial Police have proposed the Department of Tourism to ask the Provincial People's Committee to establish a tourism development steering committee in order to build, sustainably develop, ensuring a safe, civilized and friendly tourism environment.

The police force in the province strengthened the state management in security, promptly handled cases and accidents related to tourists, especially foreign tourists; build online declaration network to manage foreigners' temporary residences, and form database. Up to now, more than 2,000 businesses and accommodation establishments in the province have registered accounts to declare temporary residency for foreigners via the Internet. According to Senior Lieutenant Colonel Trinh Thi Ngoc Hoa - Head of Immigration Management Department, the exit and entry management in recent years has had many positive changes, contributing to improving the effectiveness of state management in the field of tourism. In addition, many training courses on tourism security were organized for travel and accommodation businesses. The unit also coordinated with the functional forces to strengthen inspection of business activities tourism serving international visitors. Thereby, many violations have promptly been discovered and handled.
The provincial Police focused on consult the Party committees and authorities at all levels to strengthen the movement to encourage all people to protect the national security. Many models and solutions to prevent and fight crime take effect, especially in key tourism areas such as Nha Trang City, Cam Ranh City, Ninh Hoa Town and Cam Lam District. Typically, the security cameras have been installed in most of the key wards of Nha Trang City, contributing crime prevention and fighting, ensuring good security for tourists.
Besides, during the past 5 years, the provincial Police has kept security for more than 400 political, diplomatic, cultural, social events of the province and the country. That has contributed to creating a beautiful impression of the peaceful, friendly and hospitable land to tourists.
