Vietnam Administration of Tourism, Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism sent a document on September 14 to local tourism managing agencies on the celebration of activities in response to the World Tourism Day 2020 (September 27) themed “Tourism and Rural Development”.
Accordingly, local tourism managing agencies were requested to implement some practical activities such as raising public awareness of the World Tourism Day and the role of tourism on rural development via mass media; providing post-Covid-19 support, promoting sustainable development, contributing to meeting the Unites Nations’ sustainable goals, etc. Tourism and rural development workshops and conferences were also suggested. Local tourism businesses were encouraged to response to the tourism event in their own way.

The World Tourism Organization will commemorate the World Tourism Day 2020 in Mercosur nations, including Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile.
